I am good friends with my neighbor (we live in neighboring apartments) and she got a cat that we noticed had fleas within the hour. We gave it a flea bath with flea soap that protects for 30 days, its wearing a flea collar, we vacuumed her whole apartment, washed everything fabric, and sprayed the perimeter of the whole place with flea Ortho home defense. The apartment will also be coming to spray her apartment and mine (because I'm afraid they will come to my apartment). We did all of this as soon as her cat arrived, and there were no signs of adult fleas while we were cleaning. She is going to take her cats to the vet to be checked and they will recommend any further protection for them. I also plan on getting my cats flea collars just in case one happens to find its way in. We also plan on vacuuming our apartments every other day even though we don't see fleas on the cats or floors at all.
Is this enough? Is there something more I should be doing?
