Mods please delete if not allowed. I have applied for 5 dogs and I have been denied by everyone because I live in an apartment (we have a dog park) and my husband and I work 7:30-3:00 (husband works from home 50% of the time) I have attempted adopting small “hypoallergenic” animals because they don’t affect my allergies (yes I know no breed is hypoallergenic so spare me) my husband and I both make over 100k a year with disposable income and took my previous and current pet to one of the top vet hospitals in the nation. I understand shelters want to pick the best place but this dog has been in the shelter since September maybe even August! And no the rescue never says they need a yard or apartments are excluded or they need someone home 100% of the time grrrr! The last dog they wouldn’t let me adopt because they dog can’t be left alone for 30 mins although I told the rescue I would work with them and get them the training needed because even retired folks need to leave the house for more than 30 min a day!
