We took our dog to the beach today and she was nervous and terrified the whole time. Literal tons of pumice have been washing up on the beach due to volcanic activity in the ocean, and she was not having it.
She normally loves the beach and has a blast every time we go. But today was the first time we took her since the pumice started washing up a couple weeks ago.
She was nervous and skittish, always pulling at her lead away from the water and the pumice tide line. I brought her close and showed it to her and she was fine with it, even walking/sitting in it. But the whole time she wanted to go. She was whining and sitting right next to my leg, only moving begrudgingly.
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?
Edit: so my wife is telling me last night there was also a 6.5 earthquake out in the ocean. Nothing that affected us in any way. Maybe our pup sensed it?
