Help! Merging 3 cat family with a 2 cat family!
My girlfriend and I decided to move in together recently, we live in the same apartment building but I’ll be moving into her one bedroom apartment there.
We have been struggling to come up with a good way to merge my 3 cats with her 2 cats. We were both cat people before dating, so this is just how the cookie is going to crumble.
What is the best way to do this? I’m out of my apartment Jan 1st, but I’m willing to move the cats now if that is what is best for them.
She worries about doing all 3 at once and thinks one at a time might be best over the next 7 weeks?
I worry about separating my 3 from each other since I am already going to be stressing them out by moving them, I would like for them to at least have the familiarity of each other when put in her bedroom.
The layout is essentially a main area, her bedroom and her bathroom. New cats will go into the bed room and we will work on a slow integration, but we are very open to ideas to help make this as smooth as possible for everyone!
