Problem: my cat is very small and very much a grazer. Meanwhile, roommate's new cat will eat ANYTHING, including all the food from my cats bowl. As a solution, my cat now has an automatic feeder that is linked to her microchip so when she goes up to it it opens, then closes when she leaves. It's been on "training mode" for a while (so not closing all the way, to get her used to it), however we've realized that she's been sticking her hand in the bowl and pulling food out, which doesn't work anymore since the feeder is closing more and more. I'm getting nervous about her using it since she's such a chicken that she seems to REFUSE to get her body close enough to trigger it opening. I'm going out of town next week and am worried she won't be using the feeder by then.... any suggestions? Will she eat when she gets hungry enough?
