The eye specialist I have been taking her to has been sort of difficult to work with with regard to communication and scheduling. But they are one of the few specialists in the area (not exactly in the middle of nowhere, SF Bay area) and Covid makes everything more difficult with stuff like this. However I can say that I have lost trust in the front office due to not responding in a timely manner and straight up forgetting to put me on the schedule. The doctor seems ok but I don't get to deal with her very much.
I have a couple estimates for eye removal. One for just removing the eyes and sewing shut and the other for using prosthetics to help keep the appearance of eyes present. One estimate ranges from $4700 - $6200 and the other ranges from $6500 - $7700.
Wondering if anyone else has experience with this. I'm going to see about taking her to another eye specialist that is about an hour away to see if there is a significant difference in cost. Searching on google gives me results basically at half of what I've been quoted.
