My mom has a friend whose dog recently gave birth and we decided to adopt one of the litters. I always thought that my three younger siblings love pets especially the youngest, Ejot, 10 yrs old, since he’s very interested with animals and likes watching documentaries about them. But little did I know that Ejot will be the one mistreating our puppy. At first, while he’s playing with the puppy, he would hit it back whenever he was hurt. I told him that the pup’s just playing and he should never hit it back. I thought it would stop there. But just now, Ejot had an argument with our brother, Damb, and tried to push the puppy to the stairs. The puppy’s innocent, the poor animal has nothing to do with their argument. Ejot’s reason for attempting to kill the puppy is because Damb told him that he’s going to kill him. (That’s not what Damb said) Damb was just mad bc this youngest brother of mine wouldn’t do his house chores. I think Ejot felt that way bc Damb’s scary when he’s mad and he’s not used to anyone getting angry with him bc my mother spoils him, and house chores was never an issue before bc we have maid, and now we don’t. So after that fight, Ejot’s now being rough with the puppy. I have always feel like Ejot is a child with special needs but my mother always denies it saying that he’s just a late bloomer (I don’t think so). So since I don’t think Ejot’s gonna change, I’m thinking of convincing my mother to just put the puppy for adoption. We don’t deserve to have pets if it’s going to be like this. I’ve grown to love the puppy and it hurts to say goodbye to it but I think it’s the right thing to do.
