So I am currently a senior in highschool, planning to go to a college about an hour away from home. I have a 16 year old blind cat (with a few health issues) who’s been my best friend and basically emotional support animal (not official but honestly could be) for as long as I can remember. He is very dependent on me. Even if I spend one night away from home he gets stressed so I can’t even imagine what leaving him behind would do to both of us :( I currently have a couple options and would like yall yo weigh in your opinions 1. Leave him at home. He would still get attention without me but i’m just so worried he’d think i had abandoned him 2. Get an apartment/rent a house with people and go to college as a commuter. Its kinda selfish but I feel like i’d be missing out on the college experience. I switched to online school during covid and stuck with it so i didn’t get the usual highschool experience, which I know isnt too big a deal it just bums me out to think of potentially missing college experiences too. So, what would you guys do?
