Why does my cat sleep right next to me when the rest of the bed is available?

My cat has a full size bed that she shares with me. Said cat (I’ve had her for a year and a half now, 14-year-old calico) has taken to sleeping with her back snug against me when I barely take up 1/3 of the bed and the rest is free real cat estate. She doesn’t do this like clockwork but… does she maybe like me? is she trying to push me off the bed? She is also not an affectionate cat - will not sit on your lap, doesn’t like being picking up or cuddled, and will bite your hand to demand food, so idk what to think this is. My boyfriend calls her a tsundere.

I was not a cat person or ever hung out around cats before getting her so I’m just curious and always trying to understand their weird behaviour. TIA
