My girlfriend and I have a one year old cat who we love to absolute death. Unfortunately at her one year checkup the vet told us she had serious dental disease and needed her teeth cleaning. At the teeth cleaning they called me to tell me the teeth were so bad they had to review the x-rays as it looks like all of them might need to come out.
Already $1,000 in vet costs later they're telling us all of her teeth need to come out. From the initial #'s given this looks like it will run another $3,000. We simply can't afford this right now.
How bad might it be to leave in these teeth? I've heard coworkers say "dont do anything the bad teeth will just fall out" but the risk of disease seems like that's a shitty approach to take.
Or would it be better to take out the worst teeth now and do further surgeries as we get funds?
