Alternatives to essential oils for diffuser?

I want to get a diffuser, and was planning on buying lavender and eucalyptus oils for it, as a way to make my room more fragrant and relaxing. However, I live with a cat, and having read mixed information on the toxicity of diffused oils to cats, want to try to find an alternative oil or fragrance that I can put in a diffuser that won't have the potential to cause harm. Does anyone know of any alternative oils or scents that can be used in a diffuser that are safe to be used in a home with cats?

(Also, I know that it's been a hot button issue in the past, but I would prefer not to debate the safety of essential oils around cats -- the cat is my roommates', not mine, so I won't be risking it!)

Thank you!
