Hi,
3 months ago we (me and my gf) adopted two 8 and 9 year old kitties, Aku and Barrel from a shelter. They belonged to an older lady, who apparently loved them a bit too much, because Barrel is severely overweight. At first we set up the feeding routine around our schedule: 3 meals at 8:00 when we wake up, 19:00 when I`m back from work most often and 23:00 before bedtime. However Barrel is not happy about is as he starts his "feed me" concerto everyday exactly at 7:00. I have to get up, move him away from bedroom and close the door if I want to get my last hour of sleeptime.
I was thinking about giving in and shifting the breakfast time to 7:00, but I worry he will adapt and start singing at 6:00 instead, because he might have conditioned himself that he needs to yowl one hour before mealtime to get food. What do you think about it? Are my fears unnecessary or should we change the feeding time?
