Help!! Rain Ants everywhere. How can I protect my pup?

I’m visiting family out of town with my dog. Got here yesterday. There’s been a ton of rain here so ants are everywhere. Every time we go outside, we come back in with ants biting on us. (I mean every single time... walking to the car.... going to the mailbox... taking him out...)

My dog is 7 lbs and I’m worried that constant bites will cause an issue. He’s a little guy.

I have a flea and tick comb that helps me gets ants off of him. He has his heartworm and flea and tick preventatives and is up to date on all shots.

My dog is trained to go potty outside. We’re here for five days and can expect more rain. We just had no idea that rain ants were a problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions/tips for how to protect from these bites? Any recommended sprays, whether topical or outdoors?

The rain will wash away any outdoor spray, so I would need something that acts quick and is pet safe. When it is raining, it is fine because the ants obviously can’t latch to us as they’re being washed away.

I am able to access major stores like Walmart and Target, but no Petco... only PetSmart.
