This was last year when I was adding a 3rd cat to my life and it just started bugging me again, so I thought I’d ask you all.
I had 2 female cats already, both female and spayed, one was 8 and the other was 1, and I was looking for a playmate for the younger one. I explained this to the receptionist at my local humane society when I asked to visit with a specific cat, and she told me no because I already had 2 female cats and if I added any more females, they would all become hostile and fight each other. She was very serious about this and would only let me interact with male cats for the rest of my visit.
Was she ridiculous or am I missing some vital information about cat ownership here?
