My roommate stupidly decided to get a cat. It's a female, she's fully grown, but we don't know how old she is. She's not spayed yet, but thankfully her other 3 cats are spayed and neutered and my cat is neutered. She's really aggressive, likely because she's a stray, and attacks the other cats and us as well. I barely think my roommate takes care of the other cats she has, even though I've more or less adopted the oldest male and care for him now myself, so I feel like this is a terrible idea to introduce yet ANOTHER pet into a house that currently has FOUR dogs, now 5 cats, another betta fish (the last one died of fin rot) as well as 4 lizards and a snake, all of which are neglected to hell and back, save for my cat(s).
Any cat I have ever owned has been delightful. I've never once had a 'bad' or poorly behaved cat. My cats are always very chill, super loving and playful into their golden years. I don't know if it's a trend because of how I raise them or just me lucking out, but I've never actually had to deal with an aggressive cat before. My cats love to go for walks and take baths, they know how to sit and play fetch and come when called. I crate trained my cats. I basically own dogs. Hell, even the adopted old boy is becoming less skittish and more loving, playful and content. He's started to make his presence known and seems to have accepted us as his parents. I have really good cats. Superb kitties, in fact.
I don't really know how to train an aggressive cat, not that I feel obligated to do so, because I won't, but I'd like to be able to pass information on to her even if it falls on deaf ears. This cat is clearly scared as shit, so I'm letting her do her own thing and not really messing with her at all, but she kind of goes out of her way to attack the other pets or even us if we stray too close. Thank God for jeans, right? I tried giving her a little wet food, which she seemed to enjoy, and make sure she has water available to her as well. Pretty sure she's shitting in the house though. The living room (the room she's hiding in) smells terrible and my roommate just leaves the back door open so she can 'potty' but she's obviously not doing that. It's not like she has a box. I think she's going behind the couch to relieve herself.
I don't even know if she's sick or anything, so I've taken to locking my boys in my bedroom at all times. It's like my poor cats are always confined to my room (not that they care; bastards sleep and play all day) because of the crap choices my roommates make with strays. Ugh. Sorry.
Any ideas on what to do with this cat?
