Hello! Yesterday my family and I adopted a one year old domestic shorthair cat. My mom didn’t want her in any bedrooms, so she made us keep her out in the living room. We had everything she needed (food, water, litter box, bed) and she seemed to be okay, but she wouldn’t come out her carrier. We decided to keep it open overnight in case she was hungry or needed to do her business. This morning when we woke up, she used the litter box, but we could not find her. Last night, we closed all the doors and windows in the house, so there is no possibility that she escaped. The only rooms that she had access to were the living room and the dining room. It’s been about 12 hours, but she hasn’t come out to eat all day. We haven’t heard any unusual sounds and we aren’t even sure if she’s even in the house. We looked around the house and tried to lure her out with food, cat sounds, and other things that websites recommended. She’s our first cat, so we aren’t sure if this is normal behavior for them and we aren’t sure where else we should look. Thanks in advance for the help!
