Moving from a rural area to the city, should i take my cats?

I have to cats, aged 2 and 1 years. We live in a rural area, and they always have a window open, so they can go in and out. They spend a lot of time outside, climbing trees, hunting and playing. For study reasons, I'm moving to the city. I will live in a small house with a tiny garden. I have two options: taking them with me, or moving them to my dad's house, which is also in the countryside. Of course I prefer taking them with me, as I really love them, but I don't want to be selfish: if it's better and less stressful for them to keep their outdoor living, I prefer leaving them with my dad, where I know they will have good time.

I'm very thankful for the advice you can give me on this situation!
