My cat has ripped up the carpet in my house, mainly just in the corners and near doors. His scratching post helps a little, and I’ll spray him with water when I see him do it, and/or pick him up and move him to the post. However, I still catch him scratching at the carpet sometimes. I’m moving into a rental with brand new carpets and I’m terrified that my kitty will destroy them. Have any of you had any luck preventing this? I’ve heard of sprays for the carpet, but they don’t sound effective based on reviews. Any help is appreciated!
