My cat has been acting strangely

OK I'm going to try to explain this because it's really freaking me out.

I have a kitten, just 7 months old. He's been great so far, very energetic and affectionate.

But for the last week something weird has been going on.

He'll be laying on me just purring away, when suddenly he starts smelling my hand or arm like there's something on it he really wants. Then he literally latches on with his teeth and won't let go.

This isn't a play bite, nor is it aggressive. I've had many cats in my life.

Weird thing is, if I pry his mouth open, he meows at me really annoyed, and goes after it again. If I keep my hand out of his reach he'll keep meowing at me.

I have marks on my skin from him biting so hard.

It's always either my hand or arm, one time it was my foot when he was laying in my bed. He never does this to my wife.

It obviously hurts but the behavior also freaks me out because I've never experienced anything like it. This is happening at least once per day, for the last week or so.
