My cat refuses to eat his food

I am worried. My cat has begun to refuse to eat his food lately. We got a new cat recently and believe that could be the reason. The problem is, other than sleeping a lot more and being more absent, our cat still purs and chips when we hold him and loves his cat treats.

The new cat has a bad habit of eating out of our cats bowl despite us giving them each their own bowl (the new cat eats ALOT). We have tried seperating the bowl locations but the failed. We thought maybe it was her scent that threw our cat off so we would wash his bowl after we found out she ate from it, and then reput food and make sure he ate in front of us while we kept her out of sight. But he would only have a few bites before wanting to dissapear.

I don't know what to do. I think the new cats presence is unsettling him despite them being pretty friendly with each other. She has also used his litter box occasionally and we are gonna get them seperate ones soon. I don't know what to do. The new cat is a rescue cat and she also has some strange behavior like insisting on sleeping outside most of the night and then spending the day in our home. I am thinking of just keeping her food and litter box outside but I mean she will always find our cats food and what is the point in calling her our cat if she practically lives outside?

I really could appreciate the advice.
