My sweet middle aged beagle has big anxiety, only at bedtime

I've had Luna since she was three months. She's tiny by beagle standards, and extremely loving. Isn't scared of anything, plays with my kids, socializes well, never been mistreated (by us at least), and is always part of the family.

She and her buddy Lobo (beagle male) have their own sleeping area, our mudroom, which is open to the house and easy for them to hear us and stay room temperature at night. It's a room about 10 feet long and four feet wide, with a bed and clean blankets for them to sleep together. They are kept in there by a simple baby gate, because she will sometimes pee on the rug if we are not present.

The moment it's time for her to go to bed in that room she starts trembling and panting. It seems like it's gotten harder for her as she's aged instead of easier. She'll react like this for about 10 minutes, then finally go to bed.

The silly thing is she and Lobo lay around sleeping on top of each other all day in the house, but the moment it's bedtime she hits this anxiety switch. I believe it's something to do with being confined, but she practically has her own bedroom in there.

I'd be thankful if anyone had some things I should try to help her settle down and relax.
