Neighbours have an aggressive, untrained dog chained in their yard.

Hi all.

I’m a teenager, and my neighbour just happens to be a girl from school.

Her family purchased a German Shepherd - Wolf mix around 2-3 years ago as a puppy. They keep the dog chained in the backyard, and do not bring him inside at nights unless the weather is quite poor.

The dog is untrained. It growls, and throws itself against the fence whenever somebody passes their yard to walk into my driveway to my house- it scares a few people, including my young sister. The dog has escaped into our yard previously, multiple times at night - our large dog is now terrified of interacting with him, and it’s kinda scary trying to bring our dog back inside with the escaped dog in our yard. The dog usually stays in our yard for a few hours, until they herd it back into their yard.

They feed the dog and provide water as well- but other than that, the dog mainly has no human interaction unless the girl invites one of her friends over to show him off. I kind of feel bad for him - at the same time, I’m scared of interacting with him as he lunges and growls at me through the fence. Nobody can leave our house without passing the driveway, and whenever they do, the dog growls and barks and the fence shakes. It scares my kid sister.

What can I do?
