Hi!
1 month ago my SO and I adopted our first cat, I have never had a cat before so I learnt everything to do off of Google. Before being picked up we set up our spare bedroom for her with a soft hidy hole for her, and this spare bedroom contains her food, litter box some toys etc. When we Brought her home she ran straight for this hole and hasn't left since, when she is sure we won't come in she will leave to use the litter tray and eat her food but won't budge if we are in the room.
She is clearly used to us now and she purrs and allows us to play with her in the hole, I have tried all sorts to try and lure her out, be that treats, cat nip and its just not working :( the smallest noise and she will tense up and get scared.
I am just really getting down as I love her so much and just wanna show her this, and see her real personality. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
P. S we have a feliway diffuser plugged in nothing is happening
