I had my 8-month old kitten spayed today and everything went well. I have some post-surgery problems, though and I’m not sure how to handle them. I go to school everyday and I usually don’t come home until late in the afternoon. The vet told me to keep her in her cage during recovery. I can put food and water inside her cage before leaving in the morning but what about when she needs to go pee or poop? No one else is going to look after her and I fear coming home and she’s covered in her own dirt.
Can I already let her out a day after surgery?
Is there any risk to her sutures if she’s not isolated from my other cats?
Does she still need to be inside the cage when I put her e-cone?
Why is she aggressive? She used to be affectionate but she’s become aggressive and she would scratch and bite my hands whenever I try to pick her up. It makes me sad because she wasn’t always like that. At the clinic, she was calm and she let me touch her and even carry her but once we got home, she seemed angry again. I don’t know how to calm her or make her think that I’m not gonna hurt her.
Any advice you can give about this, I will appreciate.
Thanks so much in advance!
