Thinking about boarding a guide dog but I have cats in tge house whats do you think I should do.

As someone who does some volunteering work for the guide dogs (unfortunately not directly with the dog) I wanted to get more involved and board one of their dogs when it's in training as I don't think I could where I am committ to having my own dog as no one's in the house in the day so no on could walk them so this seemed to be a good compromise. But the person who I live with got new adopted cats just over a month ago and I know they will need more time to settle (so I'm in thinking about a months or two before getting the dog) as they are still I bit nervous but are happy with the two of us and are starting to approach visitors. So is it a stupid idea that I board the dog. Please be honest and please can you give me some advice on the subject.
