My cat is getting manipulative for food

Okay so brief back story...my 11 year old tabby was diagnosed with diabetes about 6-7 years ago. He's been given insulin twice a day consistently since he was diagnosed. He's gotten sick here and there with pancreatitis and we most recently took him to the vet back in August/September as the pancreatitis was acting up. After getting a clear bill of health, he's been back to his normal self except for one slightly annoying change. His appetite has significantly increased. He used to be fed 4 small cans of Royal Canin diabetic food a day; now he won't be content without 6-7. The worst part of all of this is that he's become very manipulative in the ways he gets me to feed him. He'll start finding things around my apartment that he can make really loud noises on (paper lamp, plastic bag, etc.). Essentially, anything that will make annoying noises to get my attention. It's hard to just ignore the noise, especially at 2-4 in the morning when I'm trying to sleep. He never used to be like this before. Any suggestions on how to get him to stop?
