Good morning,
I've been on the cusp of adopting a cat from the humane society, with one reserved until today. However, I've been hesitating because the cat is already an adult, I want to get a dog in the future, and they don't know have any data on how the cat gets along with dogs. All I know is that the cat is really shy, which means it's more likely not to.
Anyways, I was browsing the forum, and I keep hearing people say, "If you do it right, your cat and dog will be able to tolerate each other, although they'll probably never be best friends." For a cat, does tolerate mean, "I'd rather you not be here, but you are, so I'll roll with it"??? Because if so, I wouldn't feel right putting a cat in that position, and I think I'm going to opt for a dog first, and then a kitten after.
Let me know what you think. Thanks!
Ben
