Hello! I'm finally getting my own place, and I've been wanting a cat for many years (my parents never allowed animals in the house).
I've already been to our local shelter and am going back in a few days to look at the new arrivals.
One of them really caught my eye, he's eight years old and there are a couple of other cats around that age too.
I'd be really interested to know if this is a good sort of age to consider for a first cat, or if there are any notable drawbacks.
