My cat came back and I need help

AFTER 4 MONTHS MY CAT IS BACK. I can't believe it! I can't! I thought he was dead!

But I need help, I have another cat and they've always been in fights, and to prevent this we fixed our older cat & this cat, the one that disappeared was supposed to be next. Now that he came back, they still hate each other and they still wanted to get into a fight before we stopped them..we're planning on fixing this one too, but I'm worried that they'll still fight because they still hate eachother. What should I do? Our house is very small and they'll end up meeting at some point....also, how do I prevent him from running away again? I'll never ever let this happen again. Ever. I just don't know how to make him stay
