Pictures of the swelling. We're taking her to the vets tomorrow. She's a four and a half year old Portuguese pointer, and we're obviously a bit concerned and hoping someone on here might be able to give us a vague idea what could be wrong.
We've had her about 2 weeks now, she hasn't shown any signs of being unwell other than being a fussy eater, but we're told she always has been and we've changed her diet and she's been eating normally.
Internet research tells us infection possibly, and the only thing we can think of out of the ordinary for her is she snagged herself on the corner of a poorly designed fence yesterday during a walk (it had random bars stuck out the end like that's good idea). We couldn't see any signs of actual injury though, no marks on the skin or open wounds that we could see after an inspection.
So yeah, if anyone has had similar things appear on their dogs or has any medical knowledge of what it could be, we'd be very grateful to hear possibilities. We should get answers tomorrow at the vet obviously, but we're concerned and would like to talk in the present!
