I have a Great Pyrenees that is 10 months old that has never shown any type of aggression towards another dog until yesterday. I walk with him and my 2 year old Aussie for about 3 miles daily and sometimes go to a local trail a couple miles from my home. We approached a border collie mix female with a super friendly owner and since all 3 of the dogs were calm after the initial approached I asked if they could meet. When I approached the collie with my Pyr he instantly got protective and started snarling, showing his teeth and barking excessively. I had his body between my legs and arm wrapped around his neck as soon as he started to freak out so the other dog was not injured, I am just nervous about this happening again. He has been well socialized and has always been friendly with other dogs in the past.
