Okay, on to the issue. My old guy has heart worm related bronchitis. The heart worms are currently being treated via the slow kill method due to his age.
He has been through two rounds of Prednisone, which help when he's on them every day, but as soon as we wean him off, the cough and wheeze come right back. I don't want to keep putting him on steroids. They make him extremely hungry, thirsty, and due to limited exercise, he gets chubby. I know this is a process that is going to take a while, and I also understand that this may be what does him in due to his old age and his gradual declining health.
My question is if there are any alternative methods to make him more comfortable with his chronic bronchitis?
At this point, even when he poops he starts wheezing.
