I'm begging you. I am a dog groomer, I see neglected animals every.single.day. and it hurts my soul.
I see dogs that have been pushed off on family members, because the person who adopted the pet can't financially take care of it. Or they got the dog because it was cute but they were not committed to the care a dog needs.
Old people....STOP GETTING PUPPIES AND BIG STRONG DOGS. Now I love old people, but this one drives me insane. I understand you want a companion because you're lonely, so get an older dog or cat. One that has the same energy as you and can't pull you over or knock you down. I can't tell you how many times I've seen old people come in with casts or saying they need surgery because Fido pulled/knocked them down. You also will probably die before this puppy or kitten. Who will now end up somewhere where it may not be wanted and the pet will be confused.
If you cannot give that puppy proper excersize or training it needs don't fucking get it. Do right by the pet and don't take it home. You cannot keep a high energy dog couped up in a house 24/7. That is cruel. Or any dog couped up.
If you cannot afford to get that $2000 dog you bought a hair cut every 6 to 8 weeks, do right by the dog and don't get it. Don't let your dog get matted to hell and fucking don't get mad at groomers when we have to shave it. We don't like torturing your pets, so fuck no we won't brush that out. I've seen huge open cuts and scars on dogs from owners trying to cut mats off their dogs so they don't have to pay dematting fees. Just the other day a lady cut her dogs penis and didn't give a shit, she just didnt want her dog shaved. Also if you don't want your dog shaved just brush them every day with a slicker brush and a comb making sure you get down to the skin.
I've seen many dogs with so much shit caked to their asses that it is red and raw, the poop had no where else to go but sit on your dogs ass, would you let a child sit in a diaper for weeks?. Dogs with the most horrendous ear/eye infections that you can smell from a mile away. I've seen dogs that have their own nails growing into their paw pads and they can't walk correctly because of how long their nails are. Let's not forget about your obese animals. A couple of extra pounds on a dog is way harsher to them than on a human. Some dogs can't stand because of how fat they are. You've seen the show "my 600 pound life" that is your fat ass dogs life. It is miserable.
Don't shame your groomers or vets or anyone working with animals, shame yourself you ignorant brick.
