If an apartment complex has a breed restriction on pitbulls but I want to adopt one as an ESA how does that work? I would already be living in the complex knowing they don't allow pitbulls. Would I have to adopt the pitbull first and then register it? But wouldn't I not be protected for having a banned breed since for those few days they weren't a registered ESA? Do I get a letter saying I need an ESA and then go adopt the pitbull? Hopefully what I'm asking is making sense.
