I'm not sure if this is the correct sub to post this but I'm at a loss and need some advice. Last night I had to rush my 6 year old yorkie to the ER. She fell off the sofa hit her head/back of neck and wasnt moving. My husband met me there as things were not looking good. We were told total cost of her treatments would be over $4000 PLUS an additional $3000-$5000 for an MRI. We declined the MRI and paid what we could. I picked her up this morning and Her vitals are fine. The bet said she is showing signs of neurological damage. She tries to walk but she can't. She cant hold herself up, tilts her head back or to one side, and is completely out of it. We were told that there's a 50/50 chance she will recover and if she starts to decline we have to get the MRI to rule out brain/neurological damage. Idk what we are going to do. I feel like a horrible dog parent . I've had her since she was a puppy and at one year old we discovered she epilepsy. We pay so much already for medicine, consistent vet visits,ER visits and we are getting to a financial mess because of it. Obviously a seizure will exasperate the situation and since she has epilepsy I have no doubt one is coming. To top it all off I'm 7 months pregnant. I'm completely at a loss of what to do. Does anyone have any experience with a situation like this that can offer advice? Thanks.
