So I am buying two kittens from this Russian breeder and I already put down money to reserve through western union. He wants the rest of the money prior to shipping so nothing is paid out of his pocket, he'll already have the money that is owed to him. They have a website and a facebook page and they have been breeding cats for what seems like two years at least, but communication has been challenging due to language barriers.
This is my first time buying a cat, I have only adopted in the past from local shelters, so I'm not sure if this is just how it goes - you put down money first and then blindly trust the breeder to fulfill their end of the bargain? They haven't been shady or anything and even sent me a signed contract (which is really nothing more than typed up word document, hardly official) but I am feeling a little uneasy because I've never sent money to someone blindly before.
Does anyone else have experience with foreign cat breeders?
