My sweet pup Lucy is getting her first injection for heartworm treatment in about a week. I am terrified. They didn’t know she had heartworms when they spayed her and we almost lost her. We also found out she has Lyme disease and possibly cancer. This is the unfortunate thing about adopting a shelter pet.
They had her on prednisone and doxy to prep for the treatment. I know the biggest thing is restricting exercise. Thankfully, she isn’t very active and is only motivated by food (she enjoys long romantic strolls to the kitchen).
If anyone has any tips I would appreciate it! Also appreciate any well wishes and prayers ♥️
