Help- Treatmenting my dog with liver infection/failure

sorry for the grammatical error in the title. I meant "treatment" and can't edit the title now.

Hi everyone Today I received news from the vet that my dogs liver(12yrs old, male, breed toy poodle) is in critically bad condition, and is slowly going into failure. Have you ever expirienced something like this with your pet? What helped/how did you help your pet? What did you find didnt help? Vet said that adding any more oral medication is unhelpful because it affects liver worse since its already weak. I included his blood results as a image, in this post. Here is a URL to a image of his blood results: https://ibb.co/qY3hwSB

Vet told me he should be put into IV therapy for 48hours to regulate potassium levels and help his liver relax. My family does not want to contribute to paying the 2.5-3.5k expense, says we should put him down, while I do want to pay. I dont have the cash on me but am thinking of getting a loan. My dog also has heart disease that has been controlled well.

The vet does not know what the source of liver infection is coming from. So she wants to have him in IV for 48 hours, have him monitored, and have him have an cardiovascular ultrasound to see if there is any tumor. If nothings found then he will further go to see specialists..

Im wondering. What if he does IV, gets better..would his liver drop rapidly again? I asked vet of coarse and she said she doesnt know. Truly its unpredictable. Does anyone have any expirience or knowledge that can be helpful to know of relating to any of this?

Any word or help is appreciated.
