I am far from home at the moment and I’m wondering what to do.
Me = me Gh= good housemate Bh= bad housemate
So BH hasn’t spoken to me or GH for a good few months for a variety of reasons, nor has she been doing anything in the house or caring for our pets (we had a dog and 2 cats). The dog is safe with me and the other cat was kindly adopted by my cousin. However that leaves one very old cat in her sole care as of last Friday morning. The dog is all of ours but the cats were both BH’s. GH and Me have been caring for all the animals with no help from BH, but as we are both away from home we made it clear that BH was responsible for HER OWN cats and no one else is there to look after them, if she no longer wants the cat she will have to make some other arrangement for them.
Cut to today, my friend has come down to pick up some of his gardening tools (from our garden) to find the cat is locked outside and pawing to be let in (this is an old dying cat who hasn’t been outside in years). He had also received a text from BH saying not to let the poor cat back in the house if he goes inside (he tried to let the cat in anyway but the door was locked and she was not home.
As far as I am aware she has been away from home for some time and has not left food or water anywhere for the cat. The cat is likely to die soon so im trying to arrange a shelter pickup/someone from my family to go and get her but it is difficult to arrange from afar. Should I call RSPCA? Or is there a better number (I’m in UK)
I can’t stand cats personally but I’d never let one suffer, just not sure what best course of action is,
Also BH needs to know this is unacceptable
Any all advice appreciated
