Huge price discrepancy on cat dental surgery

So our cats teeth are not looking so good.

One vet says dental surgery to get 4-6 teeth extracted. The other says cleaning, maybe 1 extraction decided at time of cleaning.

Forget the difference of opinion, the cost 2 vets gives us vary wildy.

Vet one says 2k-2.5k. Anesthesia induction and monitoring is $450 alone. Teeth extraction $145 per tooth. Binch of other fees on here: antibiotics, nerve block, fluids, IV, nursing, teeth cleaning, etc.

Vet two says $500-$600, with IV, antibiotics, anesthesia, pain control. If teeth feet extracted, it's ~$80 per tooth.

Even if vet two decides to extract, there's no way it's even close to the $2k mark

How does one explain such a massive discrepancy in price?
