My Cousin Got a Dog Having NOT AN OUNCE of Knowledge on How To Care for One

I'm really upset over this. My cousin has always wanted a dog ever since she was a kid and since my other cousin got a dog a few years ago she's cracked down on this desire. I've asked her a few times some basic questions every pet owner should know like "what do you do if your dog shits on someone's lawn?", "do you know how to wash them?", "do you know what food is good for them and what treats they should and shouldn't have?" and she couldn't answer a single one. I told her time and time again to please do your research and ask people or ask our other cousin about how to care for one. She told me she would. We've had this convo at least 30 times.

Fast forward to now. She got the dog and is already confused and complaining. She's wondering why a puppy she just bought (I don't think she adopted it because it looks so young but that's neither here nor there) is crying. She doesn't know why a puppy is crying and she just left it on the couch and started complaining to us (my sis and I). We've never owned a pet in our lives other than fish when we were 6. I don't know how to help because I'm not the owner and I never signed up for co-ownership of someone else's dog. I don't want a dog nor have any desire to waste my personal time doing the research into dog ownership for someone who should have been doing that already (not like she'd even listen to the advice I'd give her). I'd tell her all of this but my sis won't let me so I'm coming here to ask for help.

What do I do? I'm worried about this dog because my cousin is the type to buy things on a whim and get rid of them when the excitement wears off. She's owned a turtle that somehow drowned and died because of her neglect. The turtle was weeks old and she kept it in a plastic container no bigger than a jewelry box with no rocks or enrichment opportunities in there. She's seemingly already over this dog now because of its crying and it worries me how she'll react when it inevitably takes a crap on her floors or get fleas or something. Any pet owners have advice? I don't think she can just return it (and she wouldn't even if I told her she's unfit). Anything I can say to her to get it through her head that this isn't a toy and she NEEDS to do her own damn research into it instead of relying on us? Thank you.
