It was 2012 (I was 18) when my friends' cat had kittens and she offered them to her friends. I have always been a big cat fan (we have had cats at my granny's) but we lived in an apartment and my parents were skeptical about getting a pet because of the "mess" the cat could make with the furniture etc. But there were many reasons I wanted the cat: - I fell in love with the fluffer - I wanted to help out a friend - my father had had a serious mental breakdown and depression few years ago, he was still recovering from it and I hoped it would give him activity and cheer him up. - overall I thought having a pet would vitalize the life in a dull apartment.
At the time I didn't know I would soon move out to live with my BF. It was 2015-2016 when I slowly atarted living at my BF's house and finally moved in with him and got our apartment. I would have taken the cat with me but my BF has a cat allergy and a small dog (we live on the same plot with his parents, they live in a house and we live in an apartment).
Another side of the story. My grannies live in another town so when we/they plan to visit, it would be for a few days. In the summer it would be a month or two. At first we tried to take the cat along in a transportation cage, but it freaked him out and he shat every time. It made my parents mad again. So we decided to try and just hold him, I thought it worked out better. But as I've heard, he still had some accidents that way too. So sometimes we have taken the cat to my BF parents house for the weekend (they are big pet lovers). The cat would then be on my watch, but my BF gets to be away from the cat (allergy). But there is a situation now where parents apparently accuse me for leaving the cat to them (not directly but I read between the lines and the attitude) and there will always be the question when a trip is coming - what do we do with the cat? Mother always calls and says among other news "and then there's the cat issue,.....".
I'm sick of this attitude and I really don't know what to do.
- The cat was pretty hyperactive at nights and sometimes attacks my younger sister. He's very curious and likes to be near people. He's mostly a big purr-machine, but has his play-attack moments.
