I am so devasted. My Yorkie pup passed away yesterday. He was about 15 weeks old. He contracted parvo. So I have done a bit of research on this, as I got him from a registered breeder @ 12 weeks, who gave me his vaccine card. According to this card all his vaccines and deworming was up to date. I paid a hefty price for this pup. When I noticed his symptoms I took him to the vet IMMEDIATELY as I know how devastating this disease is. When at the vet he got all sorts of meds and antibiotics and was tested positive for parvo. I showed the vet the vaccine card and he pointed out to me that although signed, the card was not stamped with absolutely no indication of who the administering vet was. He said that it happens very often that breeders falsefy these cards or they administer the vaccines themselves. Sometimes these vaccines aren't stored at correct temperatures by the breeders, making them in fact useless. The vet said that if the vaccines were administered correctly, the pup shouldn't have contracted the virus. I contacted the breeder and told her what happened. I told her I don't want my money back or anything like that, but that I just want to warn her so that it doesn't happen again. She went on a rampage and refuses to give me the administering vet's details, which just tells me she is guilty. Just a fair warning fellow animal lovers, check the vaccine cards carefully, make sure they were administered by a registered vet. This causes a lot of heart ache
