I am fostering a 6yo kitty. Very friendly and affectionate but also very skittish.
I've limited his space to my bedroom and the bathroom so he doesn't get overwhelmed, but even still, every single time that I leave for more than a few minutes, I'll come back to find him in his cat carrier (i.e. his safe space). If I'm around he has no problem hanging out in my room, even with the roommates home & making noise.
Any recommendations? I'm hoping he'll grow out of it but I also want to find ways to encourage bravery. I've tried leaving treats scattered around so he has reason/reward to poke around while I'm away, but they go unclaimed.
