Hi there. My small Maine coon cat Callie has spent months trying to get into my baby corn snake Dolly’s tank, but I had always made sure my bedroom door was jammed shut (I don’t have a lock) to keep her out and not to sit on top of the mesh lid as it was weakening. However, tonight she finally succeeded and has killed my beloved baby. I am absolutely devastated, and heartbroken that this happened; I am still in shock and I can’t even process it, my mother wouldn’t let me see the body as Callie had hurt him. I am still traumatised, and in such emotional agony, and I’m trying very hard to not think about it. But, I understand it’s just one of those things that animals do. I am trying to make peace with it, and it tugs at my heart in the worst ways to think about his pain.
However, my concern lies with Callie’s actions afterward. After spending some time with my brother to cheer me up, I went into my room to see that she has urinated on my bed, which she had never ever done before (we’ve had her for around 3-4 years). At first I was annoyed, until I realised it may be connected with the incident.
Is there anyone who could help me understand what this could be? Thank-you!
TL;DR: My cat killed my pet baby snake, and has urinated on my bed a few hours afterward. (She’s never peed on the bed before). Any ideas why?
