I found a stray kitten near my apartment six months ago. A month prior I spent $3,000 on a month-long trip to another country to complete a career-related certification course. The fees were nonrefundable.
A friend of mine agreed to watch my cat for a month but we're two days in now and I'm thousands of kilometers away in another country getting updates like "she's very stressed, not eating".
I moved all of her favorite things to the new place. The babysitter is nice and attentive. I felt horrible about taking her to a new environment and disappearing but there was no better way I could do it.
I can't think of any way to help my baby girl. 😔 I'm sitting in the airport right now jet-lagged and worrying about her.
