My cat doesn’t know how to meow

We adopted a cat recently who used to be a stray. She was taken in and fostered when she was pregnant, had her litter, and all of them were adopted out except for her. She’s only about a year and a half. We jokingly call her a teen mom, because she had her kittens when she was a year old. What we’ve noticed since having her is that she was completely silent. She’s just now figuring out that if she makes noises that we will pay attention to her. The thing is they aren’t a typical meow. I think she’s using the other cat noises that they use with each other for us but I’m not sure. It’s a very drawn out noise that’s very quiet- but hey it gets her fed. Is this a thing?
