My cat is mad at me and I don’t know what to do.

Momo, my 3 year old cat, had a really hard winter break. He lives with me and my boyfriend in our apartment. We have had him for about 2 years and me & Momo have a great connection. I love him so much and he is my baby.

There were some break-ins near us around Christmas and my boyfriend was gone. I decided to go home to my family early for safety reasons and I had to take Momo with me. He is very skittish and nervous when it comes to new things.

My dad ended up bringing his puppy over and, long story short, Momo attacked the puppy. Both of them are fine physically, no scratches on them. I, on the other hand, got two cat bites and had to take amoxicillin for 10 days. He has never acted aggressively before so I wrote it off to him being in a strange place with a strange animal he didn’t know, and I got in-between them.

On our drive home, he meowed the entire time and at the very end, he started panicking. He ripped a hole in his carrier and got his head stuck trying to squeeze out of it. Then a day later I had to get on a plane to visit other family for 5 days. My uncle came over everyday to watch him and play with him.

When we first came back he was super snuggly, but now that we have been back for about a week and started classes, he has changed attitudes. He has been really grumpy with us. He bites at our hands sometimes when we pet him and has just generally been moody.

He seems to be upset with me and it breaks my heart. I wish I didn’t have to put him through all that. How can I start to repair our relationship? I want my cuddly little boy back.
