I am 30 yrs old and have stable income. I have owned all kinds of pets in the past: dogs, cats, guineia pigs, hamsters, rabbits, parrots, bally python, ducks, lovebirds, etc.
I'm looking for a similar pet.
What I seek in the relationship:
- ability to clearly recognize, respond and interact with me. clear signs of sentient intelligence (rabbits that i have owned have lacked this, guinea pigs and hamsters too. they just seem like animals, and no matter how much you feed or coax or handle them, they never seem to entertain or in fact even be capable of entertaining a more interactive relationship.
The african ball python i had was different. it was a sedentry creature but started recognizing me, liked slithering around my hand and neck, and showed clear signs of intelligence, even if it was not capable of expressing it much.
I heard bearded drags are interactive intelligent and make really good pets.
other options are hedgehogs, geckos, turtles, sugar gliders, chinchillas, etc.
