We adopted a dog a few weeks ago. He’s a little over a year old. We crate him when we leave and he cries the whole time and pees in the crate. When we left him out today, about five minutes into us being gone he crawled through the cat door attached to the dog gate we have. Does anyone have tips for helping him calm down and relax when we leave? My fiancé travels for work and I’m gone 7-6 almost daily.
Edit: we haven’t seen him get super destructive yet but we also don’t want to risk it. I’ve seen him try to bite the coffee table once and the leg of a chair out of nowhere and I’m afraid he’ll do that if we leave him out
